What disciplined selling delivers

95%
Forecast accuracy, when every deal is milestone-verified
50%
Better win rates, because unwinnable deals exit early
12→8
Months. Sales cycles compress when discovery is done right
34 yrs
Of carrying a number before ever coaching one

These are the outcomes the system is engineered for. The case studies below show what named clients achieved.

Premature Pitching Syndrome

Your team doesn't have a closing problem.
It has a discovery problem.

Most B2B sales teams pitch before they diagnose. Decks fly out on the first call, proposals go to people who never said they had a problem, and the pipeline fills with deals that were never real. Then the quarter ends, the forecast misses, and the board stops trusting the number. The fix is not more pitching. It is a process that makes pitching a privilege the buyer grants you.

Random Selling
  • Pitch on the first call, discover never
  • Proposals sent to test interest
  • Pipeline stages based on seller optimism
  • Ghosted deals sit in the CRM for months
  • Forecast is a negotiation, not a number
The Baseline Selling Operating System
  • Discovery earns the right to present
  • Every deal must touch defined milestones, like bases on a diamond
  • Stages verified by buyer actions, not seller feelings
  • Unqualified deals exit early, on evidence
  • Forecast the board can take to the bank
Named clients, verifiable outcomes

First
new logo, after years of farming existing accounts

Situation

All revenue came from existing customers. New-logo acquisition had stalled.

What was installed

A 3-month Baseline Selling rollout with ongoing deal coaching.

Result

First new customer acquired, and a repeatable acquisition process behind it.

Esconet TechnologiesTech Infrastructure
renewals, after an initial 2-day leadership intensive

Situation

A capable sales team with no shared process and weak CRM discipline.

What was installed

A 2-day leadership intensive, CRM alignment, then a standing coaching cadence.

Result

The engagement was renewed twice, on the strength of what the pipeline showed.

Network ScienceTech Consulting
25→60%
win rates in strategic segments, within the engagement

Situation

Deals stuck for months, win rates at 25%, and no CRM backbone behind the sales process.

What was installed

A year-long engagement: an open-source CRM with the complete sales workflow, plus Baseline Selling coaching across inside and field sales.

Result

Win rates rose from 25% to 60% in strategic segments, conversion rates jumped 50%, and long-stuck deals started moving within three months.

The proof I value most: clients who renew. Engagements here start small, prove themselves in the pipeline, and earn their extension.

Work with me

Two formats. One operating system.

Baseline Selling runs in two formats, depending on whether you are sharpening your own game or installing the system across a sales organisation. Every engagement starts with a diagnostic, because prescription without diagnosis is malpractice, in medicine and in sales.

For individuals · 12-week cohort

The Sales Leadership Intensive

For sales professionals who want to elevate their game in the world of authentic selling. Twelve live sessions with me, the four-base operating system installed as a process you keep for the rest of your career, and role plays on the deals you are actually working.

Best for AEs, BDMs, pre-sales leads and founders who carry a number and want to stop winging it.

For enterprise · Team installation

The Baseline Selling Installation

For companies that want the Baseline Selling sales process, methodology and framework installed across their sales organisation. Delivered in two sub-formats:

2a · The 2-Day Immersion

The entire framework covered in two concentrated days: role plays, mock calls, and the works. A common sales language your whole team walks out speaking.

2b · The 3-Month Journey

The 2-day immersion, then three months of group coaching and hands-on strategy support on your key live deals, until the discipline holds without me.

Best for CEOs and Sales VPs who want forecast credibility at board level, not a motivation bump. Sales leaders who want an advisory cadence only, pipeline reviews and complex-deal strategy through your managers, can start with the same call.

Who this is not for

Companies shopping for low-cost sessions, motivational talks, or a quick moral boost before quarter-end. If your organisation will not adopt a structured process, I am the wrong fit, and I will say so on the first call.

The install, phase by phase

How the system goes in

1

Diagnose

Leadership discovery, sales process audit, 21-competency assessment of the team.

2

Design

A custom Baseline Selling framework mapped to your actual sales motion.

3

Install

A leadership intensive that standardises the sales language across the org.

4

Implement

Weekly coaching, live deal reviews, CRM aligned to milestone stages.

5

Scale

Forecast discipline and leadership reviews until the process is institutional.

Foundation first, then scale. That order is the whole difference.

Start with one deal, not a contract

Three free diagnostics, built from the same discipline I install in sales teams. Two look at your deals. One looks at you.

Founder & CEO, Network Science
25→60% win rates

"Mindset, confidence and clarity: that is exactly what we experienced. Nelson didn't show up with a template. He rolled up his sleeves, understood our ground realities, and aligned the entire sales process. Within three months, deals stuck forever finally started moving, and win rates jumped from 25% to 60% in the segments we most wanted to win. The biggest impact was the mindset shift: our leaders became coaches. That kind of transformation lasts."

15 weeks, whole team

"After 30 minutes with Nelson, I took him to my entire team. Two hours a week, for 15 weeks. Definitely not in my plans, but boy, was it worth it. We learned a methodical framework of sales: how each stage will feel, what to do in each stage, how to take it forward. He is one intervention that we definitely needed."

Sivamani S

All stages covered

"There are a lot of sales methodologies available. We chose Baseline Selling for a simple reason: it covers the fundamentals at every stage. People run towards closing, and conversion stays low because they miss the process. This covers the full 360° of sales. And the post-programme support helps our team work through real-life situations."

FAQ

Questions I get a lot

What exactly is Baseline Selling?
A milestone-centric sales process built on a simple idea: a deal must touch defined bases, in order, before it can advance, exactly like a runner on a baseball diamond. Each base is verified by what the buyer does, not what the seller hopes. It replaces stage-guessing with evidence. Baseline Selling was comprehensively written by Dave Kurlan, and it includes the sales process, the methodology and the frameworks that help salespeople recognise which base they are on at any point in the sales cycle, see every step on the way ahead, and, just as importantly, know what NOT to do, so a pursuit is never sabotaged and killed unceremoniously.
How is this different from sales training?
Training transfers information and fades in a fortnight. This is a transformation: a diagnostic of your team's 21 core sales competencies, a process installed through your leadership, CRM aligned to milestones, and a coaching cadence until the behaviour holds. The deliverable is an operating system, not a certificate.
How long before we see results?
Pipeline quality shifts within the first 90 days, because unqualified deals start exiting early and discovery quality becomes visible in deal reviews. Forecast credibility and win-rate movement build over 90 to 180 days of coaching cadence.
Who is this NOT for?
Companies looking for low-cost sessions, motivational speakers, or an event to tick a box. If leadership will not participate or the organisation will not adopt a structured process, I decline the engagement.
What does the diagnostic involve?
Three parts: leadership discovery interviews, a sales process and pipeline audit, and a scientific assessment of each salesperson against 21 core competencies. You receive the findings as evidence, before any prescription.
What does the free Deal Reality Check tell me?
You run one live deal through ten questions and get a verdict: is this deal progressing, drifting, or already dead. It is the fastest way to experience milestone thinking on a deal you actually care about.
